Creature Type(s) Humanoid Life Span 200 Years Size Medium Base Speed 30 ft.
Most theories suggest that dwarves were the offspring of humans who made a contract with a higher being. Might it be one of the gods, an elemental being, or the planet itself, no one can be sure. Whatever theory is correct, it is certainly true that dwarves are sturdier than most other mortals.
Dwarves can carve themselves a niche almost anywhere — their keen sight and their endurance allow them to create and thrive where others dare not tread. Caves become halls, mountains become castles. As their hammers fall, as their kettles boil, unspeakable beauties are unleashed upon their world.
Although they are often strong and muscular, dwarves are not tall. Their broad, compact frames make them hardy and stout. They can be twice as heavy as a human a few feet taller. Their skin ranges from fair and pale to dark and brown, even gray, with a healthy bronze color being especially common. Under the correct light, dwarven eyes seem like polished black, brown, blue, or green gemstones. Dwarven hair is most often black, but red, brown, and blonde are not uncommon colors. Their beards grow full and long—sometimes it’s hard to say where a dwarf’s hair ends and beard begins. This is true even for dwarven women, a trait that is most confusing to other mortals.
Dwarf Traits
Age: Dwarves age as fast as humans, but most cultures only consider them adults at 50. They have extremely long lives; some dwarves live to be over 250 years old and their average life span is 200 years.
Size: Medium (4-5 feet / 120cm - 150cm)
Speed: 30 feet Your Speed is not reduced by wearing heavy armor or wielding tower shields.
Darkvision: You have 👁️Darkvision with a range of 60 feet.
Dwarven Resilience
You have Resistance to Poison Damage. You also have ADV on Saves you make to avoid or end the ☠️Poisoned Condition on yourself.
Dwarven Toughness
Your hit Point Maximum increases by 1, and it increases by 1 again whenever you gain a level.
Stonecunning
As a Bonus Action, you gain 👁️Tremorsense with a range of 60 feet for 10 minutes. You must be on a stone surface or touching such a surface to use this Tremorsense. The stone can be natural or worked. You can use this Bonus Action once per long rest.
Dwarf Gifts
In addition to the traits found in your dwarven heritage, select one of the following dwarven gifts.
Runner
A life in hills and open fields gave you the following benefits:
Speed: Your walking speed is 35 feet.
Endurance: You have ADV on Saves against effects that cause ☠️Fatigue and you may remove one level of fatigue after finishing a short rest, instead of a long rest.
Toughest of them all
Your ancestors were the hardiest of the dwarves, giving you the following benefits:
Great Health: As a Bonus Action, you gain a number of ❤️Temporary Hit Points equal to 1d10 + your level. These temporary hit points last for 1 minute. You can’t use this trait again until after you finish a long rest.
Slow and Steady: Your movement speed cannot be reduced by 🏔️Difficult Terrain (The GM might rule, that in specific instances this Feature doesn’t work as written). You have ADV on saving throws against effects that cause fatigue and you may remove one level of fatigue after finishing a short rest, instead of a long rest.
Dwarven Paragon
When you reach 10th level, you gain one of the following paragon gifts.
Fury of the Earth
As an Action, you can strike the ground with a melee weapon you’re proficient with. The ground in a 30-foot radius Emanation becomes difficult terrain. Each creature on the ground in the area makes a DEX Save (DC = your 🤺Maneuver Save DC, or your ☄️Spell Save DC, whichever is higher). Failure: The Creature is ☠️Prone.
A creature 🎲concentrating on a spell makes a CON Save (DC 10) or its concentration is broken.
You can’t use this feature again until after you finish a long rest.
Unbreakable
When you succeed on a death saving throw, you can expend one Hit Die to regain 1 hit point as if your check result was a natural 20. You can’t use this feature again until after you finish a short or long rest.
Unstoppable
You can take the ⚔️Dash-Action as a Bonus Action and you regain 1 additional hit die when you take a long rest (But no more than your maximum). You also ignore the effects of difficult terrain.
